Correspondence, speeches, clippings, campaign material, photoprints, brochures, and programs reflect Crandon's activities and interests as a Dade County commissioner, sponsor of the Miami Civic Music Association, and lover of nature. Two large scrapbooks, covering the years 1942-1950, contain material on county matters, especially parks and health services; the expansion of the airport; Miami Civic Music activities, Crandon himself, and his family. There are a number of private and public testimonials given at his retirement from the county commission. A third smaller scrapbook (1962-1970s) concentrates on the "Crandon amendments" to the Metro charter in 1962. Two folders, housed separately, have letters from constituents and material from his 1932 campaign for election as commissioner from District 1. Correspondence includes a 1948 ALS from Philip Wylie on the Key Biscayne railroad and a 1942 ALS from David Fairchild on Crandon's recovery from a serious illness.

Letters to and from Charles H. Crandon, then Chairman of the Dade County Board of Commissioners, pertain to several requests for assistance from the county welfare funds. Letters from Crandon are carbon copies; others are originals

Crandon Park dedication photograph album, November 1947. Include aerial views of Crandon Park and the Rickenbacker Causeway which was also dedicated during the ceremony. Other views show Hurricane Harbor, Captain Eddie Rickenbacker and other dignitaries at the event. Newspaper clippings of the dedication are included.

Materials pertaining to Jimmy Ellenburg and his activities. Chiefly photographs of Jimmy's Hurricane restaurant, a memoir of Stiltsville (Biscayne Bay), the photographs show interior and exterior views of the restaurant. An oversized scrapbook contains photographs of Stiltsville and Mr. Ellenburg's guests (including Florida Governor, LeRoy Collins) relaxing and fishing.

Also included are letters of Miami Senior High School and letters of appreciation from various dignitaries.

The Raymond A. Mohl collection contains mostly newspaper clippings from the Miami Times that informed Dr. Mohl's  extensive research on urban issues in South Florida. The bulk pertains to the experiences of minority groups such as African Americans, Cubans, Haitians, Jamaicans,and Puerto Ricans in Miami. Topics include immigration, race relations, riots, and the trial of police officer, Wiliam Lozano.  Of note is a collection of columns that T. Willard Fair wrote for the Miami Times.

Also includes articles and student papers.

Advertising industry materials from layouts and proofs to the finished product. The bulk represents work done for the hotel industry in Florida (particularly Miami Beach), the Caribbean, Cuba and South America. Also represented are jobs for commericial enterprises, and some public sector work for the Florida Department of Commerce (notably tourism and economic development).  Information on the Interama complex is also included.

This collection deals almost exclusively with advertising, spanning the design process from layouts and proofs to finished brochures and magazine advertisements. The majority of the brochures are for hotels in Florida (particularly on Miami Beach) and in the Caribbean and South American (most notably for the Intercontinental chain). Other ads relate to local businesses, including banks, electronic firms and travel companies. Public sector advertisements were commissioned by the Florida Department of Commerce (including the Divisions of Tourism and Economic Development) and the City of Miami Department of Publicity and Tourism. Finally, to a lesser extent there is information on the proposed Interama complex, the Greater Miami Opera Guild and southern Florida commerce and development (such as the Miami Beach Convention Center, Dade County Port Authority, Orlando International Free Zone). A few of the brochures are in Spanish.

Correspondence, clippings, brochures, maps, real estate records and related papers trace the activities of George Merrick, founder of the city of Coral Gables. Most of the collection pertains to the 1930s and later years, including a substantial amount on the Dade County Planning Board.

Warranty deeds dated 1899 and 1903 for Solomon Merrick record the purchase of the original Merrick property in what would become Coral Gables and for three lots in downtown Miami.

The Fisher papers document Carl Graham Fisher's contributions to activities that greatly influenced American life in the 20th century, namely urban development, automotive transportation, publicity, and sports. The collection's greatest strength is the almost day-to-day picture it draws of the building of Miami Beach from a wilderness into a world-famous resort city (1912-1926). The papers also include materials pertaining to the development of Montauk (Long Island, New York).

The collection consists mainly of business and personal correspondence. The papers include clippings, photographs, legal documents, financial reports and statements, memoranda, telegrams, pamphlets and brochures, blueprints, and patents.

Papers: Correspondence, legal and financial documents, and biographical material. The bulk of the correspondence is dated 1895-1898, is addressed to Julia Tuttle, and deals with business transactions; principal correspondents are Henry Flagler and J. E. Ingraham. Legal documents include warranty deeds, a photocopy of Julia Tuttle's will of 1889, a certified copy of her 1896 will, and abstracts of the legal maneuvers that took place after her death. Also included is information on the Tuttle family, some 1950s material on events honoring Julia Tuttle, and the typescript of For Julia, a biographical novel written by Florida author Zachary Ball (pseudonym of Kelly Ray Masters)

Photographs: studio portraits of Julia Tuttle, William Sturtevant, husband Frederick Tuttle, son Henry Tuttle, daughter Frances Emmalie Tuttle, family and friends. Views of Fort Dallas, the Miami River area, and the Tuttle home in Cleveland, Ohio. Most views are albumen prints, ranging in size from carte-de-visite to about 8 x 10 inches.

The WPA Collection was assembled through individual gifts and include the;

Federal Writers' Project transcripts : Individual papers written by several authors on a variety of South Florida topics for the Federal Writers' Project.  Includes articles by Alfred Coe pertaining to the sale of poison fish in Miami and architecture. Three articles: Architecture of the Miami area, Architectural development in the Miami area, Miami city guide. Articles were based in part on interviews with noted Miami architects Phineas Paist and Richard Kiehnel.

William Wendt Papers : Mostly pertain to his employment with the City of Miami's Works Progress Administration Bureau (WPA), a New Deal program. Contains correspondence, memos, notices, specifications and other documents pertaining to projects. Of note is a copy of the Annual Report on City – Sponsored WPA and National Youth Administration (NYA) Projects for 1939-40. A set of captioned photographs show the following WPA projects underway: Miami International (Master) Airport, Shenandoah Park, Commercial Riverside Park, Little River Park, Morningside Park, Sewing Project, Housekeeping Aide Project, Handicraft Project, Toy Project, Commodity Warehouse, Gardening and Canning Project, street rebuilding and Federal Music Project. NYA projects include Bryan Park, the Miami Public Welfare Department, sail making, seaplane float construction, public service project, recreational leadership project and recreational leadership – Miami Negro Section.

The Wendt Papers also includes a blueprint for a proposed fountain for Bayfront Park and a property record from the City of Miami with construction specifications for a bungalow in East Shenandoah.

Federal Music Project (FMP) : Photographs of theatre and musical productions produced by the Federal Music Project (FMP) of the Works Progress Administration. The bulk of the photographs were shot in Miami, and a few from elsewhere in Florida. Of interest are those of the musicians who performed at the dedication of the 1935 Hurricane monument on Islamorada.  Included are two folders holding sheet music, programs and ephemera from around Florida between 1916 and 1926 that may have been used as reference material.

Research papers on settlements and people in South Dade (Miami-Dade County, Fla.), from Larkins (South Miami) and Kendall south to Homestead and Florida City, during the 1800s to 1926.

The papers hold topical folders of clippings, manuscripts, typescripts, photocopies, correspondence and notes used by Jean Taylor in researching her book, The Villages of South Dade. Also includes oral history interview sound cassettes and notebooks, the typescripts for Villages of South Dade and for Culture in the Boondocks, and material for the classes that she taught on South Dade history. Also included is a student paper Jean Taylor wrote on the early history of Miami, with annotations by her teacher, Marjory Stoneman Douglas; five 1906-1907 issues of Gustav Stickley's magazine, The Craftsman, given to Jean Taylor by Patty Munroe Catlow; and a photocopy of the National Register nomination for Silver Palm schoolhouse.

Also included is a set of mostly color images of events (1971-1980). The images are in their original and dated envelopes with some hand written notes. They were collected by Helen M. Pardee during her tenure as secretary to the Committee of One Hundred.
