Papers includes businesswoman Carolyn Herin's notebook of handwritten shorthand instruction for her business school, ledger sheets and ephemera for the Abberholm Hotel, and information on the Miami area hotel trade. Materials compiled by Mary James Herin include: scrapbooks documenting her years at Miami Senior High School and the University of Miami, a paper on the history of the Trinity Methodist Church, and a first-hand account of the 1926 hurricane.

Large format, black-and-white negatives, including aerial photographs, street scenes, and other views of the Miami and Miami Beach areas. The aerial views date from the 1910s-1930s, and the 1950s.

Negatives include 4x5 and 5x7 glass plate and film negatives. Contact prints have been made from many of the images.

Briggs estate at 1581 Brickell Avenue designed by architect George Avery, views of the family’s original house at 60 Cascade Avenue and portraits. Also includes a few pages of personal and business accounting records and a copy of "The American Architect", no. 2268, 1919, featuring an illustrated article on the house.

Consists of sheet music whose subject matter pertains to Miami and South Florida. The bulk of the  collection was copyrighted between 1920 and 1940. Musical genres include popular songs, piano music, solo instrumental music, and music for band and orchestra. Selected titles include “Moon over Miami”, “Miami Beach Rumba” ,“The Magic Realm,” and “My Isle of Golden Dreams”

Materials pertain to the Merrill family, their shipbuilding businesses in Jacksonville and Miami, and  the early development of Miami Beach.

The collection holds two photograph albums with images of Merrill family activiites and the Merrill-Stevens shipbuilding business in Jacksonville. A group of loose photographs mostly show views of the development of infrastructure and construction on Miami Beach. Several of the Miami Beach images are captioned.

Other materials include a bound set of Quarter - Deck (Nov. 1942-Aug. 1945), which was publilshed for the employees of the St. Johns River Shipbuilding Company, and a brochure for Merrill-Stevens Dry Dock Company in Miami.

Clients include Burdine's (department store), and Bay Point (subdivision development) on Biscayne Boulevard.

Collection consists of ink on linen and pencil on tracing paper drawings of the church and its kitchen and parsonage. The church was designed between 1916 and 1918, and the kitchen and parsonage, between 1924 and 1926. Some of the sheets are damaged or fragile.

Correspondence, school reports, Miami High School yearbooks, the Adirondack-Florida School Christmas letters, club membership directories, photographs, newspaper clippings, Eleventh Judical Circuit grand jury report and other ephemera mostly pertaining to the interests and pursuits of Ralph Munroe and his son, Wirth. Of interest are two letters from an Associate at the American Museum of Natural History asking Ralph to provide data on the capture of a Whale Shark in off the Florida Keys.

Tea Chest correspondence, invoices and guest book. The Tea Chest was a Coconut Grove tea room and gift shop. Material reflects a wide variety of items for the shop, many handcrafted, and includes letters from the United Society of Shakers, Cowan Pottery, and enterprises run by women across the country, as well as invoices from Miami area businesses.

Yearbooks, student register, clippings, prints and other memorabilia follow the history of a long time Miami private school. Includes copies of The Frond (yearbook) from 1929-1957 (missing 1943). Card file trays with 4X6" cards list students from 1916 on; information includes enrollment dates, addresses, and occasionally family information, colleges attended, marriages and children. Two of the scrapbooks have clippings about school or graduates' activities: others have photographic prints, not usually dated or labelled; one green scrapbook has dated (1957-1961) photoprints, and appears to show the school after it moved from Miami to Palm City.
