Antolin Garcia Carbonell was born in Cuba, he came to Miami in 1960 with his family and attended St. Mary’s Parochial School and Belen Jesuit Preparatory School. Carbonell became a registered architect with degrees from Miami Dade College, the University of Florida, and the University of Miami, and spent 30 years with the Miami-Dade Aviation Department overseeing the planning, design and construction of terminals and hangars at Miami International and Opa-locka Airports.
A historian by avocation, he has worked on several historical documentation projects in South Florida and in Cuba.
