Landscape architect,, William Lyman Phillips worked primarily in Florida during the 1920s thru 1950s. A graduate of Harvard, he studied and worked under Frederick Law Olmstead.  His commissions included residential, commercial and government projects.  Phillips died in North Miami in 1966.

Correspondence, plans, photographs, slides, drawings and pamphlets relating to Phillips work in landscape architecture. Florida projects include Mountain Lake Sanctuary (Bok Tower), Mountain Lake Colony, McKee Jungle Gardens, Indian Creek Club, Venetian Causeway, Overseas State Park, Royal Palm Park, University of Miami, Matheson Hammock Park, Highlands Hammock State Park, Greynolds Park, Crandon Park, Fairchild Tropical Gardens, Bayfront Park, and the Redlands Fruit and Spice Park. Also includes materials on the city of Balboa (Panama).[/i]
