Twelve watercolor renderings for a high-rise addition to the building includes sketches for furnishings and landscaping. A print and photograph show an aerial view of the motel and grounds.
Photographic prints and newspaper clippings document the construction of Casa Casuarina Apartments, 1116 Ocean Drive, in 1930. Its general contractor was Willard Hubbell, and this scrapbook is also a Hubbell family album. There are many prints of his daughter Rosemary's childhood; material on his father, Henry Salem Hubbell, well-known portrait painter; clippings on Willard Hubbell's fruit and vegetable farming under cloth greenhouses, and a 1946 brochure of the Riddle Inter-American Institute, when he was its Dean. Photoprint backgrounds include a variety of Miami Beach and Coconut Grove houses, including David Fairchild's Kampong, Marjory Stoneman Douglas' home and Ye Little Wood.
Hubbell familyThe journals are filled with short notes and captions and lavishly illustrated with postcards, maps, photographs, ticket stubs, menus and other ephemera. Among the photographs are images of actors: Theda Bara, William Farnum and Evelyn Nesbit on a Fox film set in Miami in 1919.
Bush, Carrie L., b. 1868The Carl Juste collection consists of photographs and related materials shot or collected by photojournalist Carl Juste on assignment for The Miami Herald and as co-founder of the Iris Photocollective. Photographic media include 35mm negatives and photographic prints of varying sizes, pertaining to people, places, and daily life in the Miami area during the late 20th century and early 21st century. Topical subjects include politics, crime, weather events, cultural and religious celebrations, primary and secondary education, sports, and construction in Miami and South Florida.
Collection of papers, including a Pulitzer Prize and other notable awards, correspondences, work and personal ephemera, newspaper and magazine articles containing published photographs. Juste's Pulitzer-winning coverage of the Elian Gonzalez (2000) is not included.
The Fisher papers document Carl Graham Fisher's contributions to activities that greatly influenced American life in the 20th century, namely urban development, automotive transportation, publicity, and sports. The collection's greatest strength is the almost day-to-day picture it draws of the building of Miami Beach from a wilderness into a world-famous resort city (1912-1926). The papers also include materials pertaining to the development of Montauk (Long Island, New York).
The collection consists mainly of business and personal correspondence. The papers include clippings, photographs, legal documents, financial reports and statements, memoranda, telegrams, pamphlets and brochures, blueprints, and patents.
Fisher, Carl G. (Carl Graham), 1874-1939Slides of travel by cruise ships around the Caribbean and Key West. Excursions were made to the Netherlands Antilles, the Bahamas, St. Lucia and the Grenadines, St. Croix, the U. S. Virgin Islands and Key West. Also include views of Everglades National Park, the Port of Miami, Miami and Miami Beach. A set records a trip aboard the Windjammer Barefoot Cruises schooner, Fantome.
Snapshots and photographic prints of canals and flooding (from rain storms and hurricanes) throughout Dade County. Ground and aerial views include bridges, dredging, construction, locks, levees, etc. One album contains views taken after Hurricane Donna in 1960.

Newspaper clippings, magazine articles, photographic prints, sheet music, newsletters and a scrapbook record the career of legendary band leader, Caesar LaMonaca and his contribution to music in South Florida for over 40 years
Box 1 contain sales and rental records for the Carl G. Fisher properties and the Miami Beach Bay Shore Company. Properties are identified by subdivision, block and lot numbers.
Boxes 2 and 3 contain records of various properties in Miami Beach (a few are for Surfside, Bal Harbour and Golden Isles) that Chase appraised betweem 1946 amd 1967. Some include maps, photographs and a description of the zoning conditions and demographics at the time. Notable is the appraisal of the Briggs estate for the estate of Jane C. Briggs in 1955, when the zoning for "Millionaires Row" was about to change to hotels and apartments.

The Burdines records document the company’s unique place in Florida’s retail history. Organized by subject headings are: newsletters, company documents, manuals and guides, photographs, scrapbooks and catalogs of Burdines’s sponsored community events, newspaper clippings, brochures illustrating advertising campaigns, and papers pertaining to rehabilitative measures taken by community leaders following the 1980 riot in Miami.
The bulk of the holdings date from the 1960s through the 1970s. With the exception of a volume on financing and construction in 1938, there is little pertaining to the company prior to the acquisition by Federated Department Stores. Also included are some scrapbooks and other references to the Jordan Marsh stores, which became part of Federated in 1991.
Over the years, several variations on the name Burdines have been used by the store. Except for folder headings using a variation of the name in the container list, the name Burdines is used through this document.
