Correspondence, numerous maps, reports, newspaper clippings, architectural and engineering plans for Miami Beach city projects, press releases and publicity material, photographic prints, traffic surveys for 1933, 1934 and 1940, and other papers pertain to the work of the city manager for Miami Beach and reflect aspects of the city's history. Includes material on the attempt to purchase the Firestone and Warner estates at 44th Street and oceanfront, for a city park; Miami Beach tourism during the war years; the 1944-1945 "bathing suit" ordinance; and a 1945 survey of medical facilities in Dade County.

Newspaper clippings, photographic prints, correspondence, postcards, greeting cards, legal documents and personal memorabilia pertain to Miami Area history and the history of the Huddleston family. The collection is particularly rich in vivid handwritten descriptions and newspaper obituaries of Miami pioneers who died in the 1950s. Also included are newspaper accounts of historic buildings and personalities, as well as the social activities of members of pioneer families, and of the meetings of the Miami Pioneers group.

Scrapbook marked "Finished 1955" in Box 6 has much of the Huddleston family material, including Farmer City, Illinois, newspaper clippings.

The City of Miami photographic records contain negatives, photographic prints, slides, transparencies, and contact prints that document: expositions, festivals, people, places, and sporting events in the City of Miami and environs.

Some important figures and well known personalities documented in the collection are President John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr., Mother Teresa, Mickey Mantle, Sammy Davis Jr., The Rolling Stones, Santana, and Bill Cosby. Other events include: the Homestead Rodeo Queen, North-South Golf, the one millionth passenger through the Port of Miami, elderly homes, infant care, beauty pageants, and civic amenities such as parks, zoos, and et cetera. The collection also documents the construction, opening, renovation, and development of the industries and civic amenities in the city of Miami.

The Church Ephemera Collection gathers ephemera and news clippings that document events, places, people and issues related to churches in South Florida and the Caribbean. Files include  brochures, pamphlets, newspaper clippings and related materials.

Photographs and scrapbooks of newspaper clippings, political advertisements and ephemera document Hall's political career. Among the photographs are images of John F. Kennedy on the campaign trail in Miami. The Republican and Democratic National Conventions were held in the city during his tenure.

Photographs shot by Chris Hansen. The collection contains photographic prints, negatives, and slides, along with a folder of clippings and lists pertaining to some of the subjects. Images include celebrities and places in Miami/Miami Beach, the Goodyear Blimp, glamour photography, Dodge Island, and the Miami Serpentarium.

The bulk of the images are of models, beauty contestants, celebrities, actors, actresses and Miami Beach social events. Other images show sporting activities, boats and ships such as the SS Florida. Among those photographed were Jayne Mansfield, Red Skelton, Jimmy Durante, Bill Haast, and President John F. Kennedy and Mrs. Kennedy. One album has newspaper clippings and another has slides of the events, including the Republican National Convention in 1972.

Eleven scrapbooks contain photographic prints, newspaper clippings, invitations, programs, correspondence, fliers, tickets and souvenirs document the activities of the society.

Nine scrapbooks date from 1932 to1973, encompass photographic prints, newspaper clippings, invitations, programs, correspondence, student government election fliers, entrance tickets, and souvenirs. The contents of some of the scrapbooks had been transferred to leather binders while the others remain in their original wooden holders with carved Ching Tang emblems on the front cover. Three of the scrapbooks do not have sleeves and only contain some information on the inside of the front cover.

The papers contain correspondence, notes and speeches by Dr. Tebeau, typescripts and photocopies on Florida topics, including primary sources (diaries, memoirs, etc.) and secondary sources (articles by students of his history classes and fellow historians). Most, but not all, relate to the Everglades or the Depression of the 1930s. Some documents related to the 1972 Master's Hearing on the dispute over federal vs. state control of Florida Bay, for which Dr. Tebeau acted as an expert witness.

Tamiami Trail Scrapbook: Newspaper clippings, including maps and photographs, have information on the then recently constructed road between Tampa and Miami, and the southwest Florida communities it crossed. Most of the clippings are dated 1926-1928, when the Trail was formally opened. Also included are clippings on Barron Collier, at the time of his death in 1939.

Research notes for Synagogue in the central city. Notes on cards formed part of Dr. Tebeau's research for his book: Synagogue in the central city : Temple Israel of Greater Miami, 1922-1972. Temple Israel celebrated 50 years of existence in 1972. As part of the anniversary, he was selected to write a history of Miami's first Reform Jewish congregation. Dr. Tebeau, was assisted by Marcia Kanner in the preparation of the manuscript.

Personal papers and scrapbooks include clippings and memorabilia related to numerous civic and World War II home front projects such as the American Red Cross Camp and Hospital Service, the American Legion, Veterans Hospital and  the Boy Scouts. Except for some brochures and photographs of the San Carlos, there are no documents pertaining to his business enterprises.

The bulk of the papers consist of legal documents and tax receipts pertaining to Charles John Peacock family's extensive real estate holdings and transactions in Dade County. Also included are newspaper clippings, photographs and personal papers.

Correspondence, speeches, clippings, campaign material, photoprints, brochures, and programs reflect Crandon's activities and interests as a Dade County commissioner, sponsor of the Miami Civic Music Association, and lover of nature. Two large scrapbooks, covering the years 1942-1950, contain material on county matters, especially parks and health services; the expansion of the airport; Miami Civic Music activities, Crandon himself, and his family. There are a number of private and public testimonials given at his retirement from the county commission. A third smaller scrapbook (1962-1970s) concentrates on the "Crandon amendments" to the Metro charter in 1962. Two folders, housed separately, have letters from constituents and material from his 1932 campaign for election as commissioner from District 1. Correspondence includes a 1948 ALS from Philip Wylie on the Key Biscayne railroad and a 1942 ALS from David Fairchild on Crandon's recovery from a serious illness.

Letters to and from Charles H. Crandon, then Chairman of the Dade County Board of Commissioners, pertain to several requests for assistance from the county welfare funds. Letters from Crandon are carbon copies; others are originals

Crandon Park dedication photograph album, November 1947. Include aerial views of Crandon Park and the Rickenbacker Causeway which was also dedicated during the ceremony. Other views show Hurricane Harbor, Captain Eddie Rickenbacker and other dignitaries at the event. Newspaper clippings of the dedication are included.

Correspondence, pamphlets, photographic prints and clippings document Charles Deering's interest in plant introduction, research and cultivation at his two Dade County estates. Included are letters and notes from John Kunkel Small, noted botanist and authority on the flora of the southeastern states; material on the building of the Cutler dwelling, with letters from its architect, Phineas Paist; and a folder of pamphlets issued by National Audubon Society, chiefly dated 1912-1916.

Scrapbooks of the Buena Vista estate and Japanese life and customs, 1900-circa 1909. Folder of preconstruction sketches for the Deering estate on Biscayne Bay north of Miami, and a turn-of-the-century photograph album on Japan. Buena Vista materials include two floor plans headed: Preliminary studies of house for Mr. Charles Deering, Miami, Fla. ; a photographic print of a building model; and eight watercolor sketches of different rooms, elevations, etc., signed by the architect Clinton MacKenzie of New York City. The Japanese album consists of a series of hand colored phographic prints showing traditional Japanese artisans, farmers and street scenes. They are numbered in Japanese and appear to have been commercially produced.

Correspondence, clippings, photoprints, articles and files reflect Brookfield's interest as a Florida Keys lodge host, writer, environmentalist, fisherman, marine archaeology enthusiast, treasure hunter, and real estate investor. Correspondence includes letters on the early efforts of the Audubon Society to secure a portion of the James Deering estate as an Audubon bird sanctuary. Photographic prints are of the Bahamas, Elliott Key, and Florida, and date from the 1930s-1980s; most are identified.  Also included is a typed transcript of TMS Winchester's 1694 log book and the Captains log of the Dunkirk.
