Content and structure elements

Scope and content

Single issues of newspapers relating to South Florida or the Caribbean area. Most of these papers were acquired for artifactual rather than informational value, from many donors over many years.

HistoryMiami does not specialize in newspapers, and is not actively collecting newspapers. This collection, therefore, is unlikely to grow.

System of arrangement

Unarranged.

Conditions of access and use elements

Conditions governing access

Due to the fragility of the materials, access is restricted to newspapers that have not been microfilmed or scanned, and are otherwise unavailable for research. For the same reason, these materials may not be displayed in an exhibition; use reproductions instead.
